In early 2004, Tori Hartman booked a big voiceover job through her Atlanta voiceover agent.  When they asked for her dial-ups, she was confused.  Dial ups?  What was that?  It didn’t take long for her to realize that she was expected to have her own ISDN studio.  She was a “local hire.”

Scrambling to find a studio, Tori couldn’t find anyone who would open their doors prior to 8 am without a large fee.  Desperate to find a place where she wouldn’t be treated like a poor relative, she contacted an acquaintance from a voiceover class who she knew had his own home equipment. 

Standing in his closet, amongst his clothes, she voiced her first campaign.  The sound was great.  It worked. 

Tori recognized that if she needed this service, than others would too.  What if there was a studio for actors, a place where talent could work, and not apologize for the early or late hours?  What if there was a place that was all about bringing more work to the Los Angeles voiceover talent?  For a studio to be a portal for smaller and mid-sized agencies where they can book great talent without huge studio fees. 

It began as a content booth.  Simple. 

Today, after a name change and a few staff adjustments, The Garage 247 has arrived as the premiere Voiceover Studio for creative people to come and work in their own unique way; on their time, and within their budget. 

The best thing you’ll find here is our people.  We all want to be here.  We actually don’t have someone on “staff” whose job it is to get you coffee.  But we will gladly run up to get you a Starbucks on the corner if you’d like.  Or brew a pot for you.  And we've got water and snacks.  Which brings us to another point:
